UK: London serviced apartment operator Cuckooz has closed its doors due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Cuckooz was founded in 2016 by Charlie Rosier and Fabienne O’Neill, and had a portfolio of design-led apartments in London locations including Bloomsbury, Shoreditch, Camden, Spitalfields, Aldgate, Hoxton and King’s Cross.

The company was a winner of two Serviced Apartment Awards, for Best Marketing or Branding Campaign in 2019, and Best Operator 1 to 50 units in 2020.

Rosier told SAN: “As a small business, with limited cash reserves, riding out the COVID19 storm was sadly not an option for us. Fabienne and I have learnt so much, building an authentic brand that really resonated with people, creating the infamous ‘womb room’; working alongside some incredible talent, winning the Best Operator award just before lock-down; the list goes on. We are so grateful for the support of the industry and hopeful that we will return again soon.”
