UK: Katten London has appointed Diane Scott as senior hotel consultant.

Scott joins Katten from Lloyds Bank, where she has worked in various senior roles for more than 30 years, most recently as a senior hotels business development director jointly running the hotels team at the bank.

At Katten, Scott will leverage her industry knowledge and connections working with the hotels team in a specially created role to develop new business opportunities for the firm. She will continue to be an expert contributor to hotel industry conferences and publications, and organise events in-house at Katten.

Peter Sudgen, UK managing partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman, said: “Our strategy in London is that, while remaining as a full service office, we focus on growing our business in the specialist areas where using our high level expertise we can take on the best firms in the UK. One of our most successful niches has been the hotels sector where we have built a practice that punches far above its weight, working with blue chip clients on critical matters. Diane will help us build and maintain this practice. Diane’s profile, sector knowledge and connections in the hotel industry are second-to-none. She has the respect of senior figures in the sector and can speak to them on Katten’s behalf with real authority. But most importantly, she is fantastic to work with, and cultural fit is our top priority as we seek to grow the firm. It is a real pleasure to be able to welcome her.”

Scott said: “I am very excited to be joining Katten. Their hotels team is gaining serious attention and respect in the industry. Not only are they experts at what they do they are also all great people to work with and to have by your side in a crisis. There is a great platform in London and worldwide for me to work with the team to make a real difference for our hospitality clients going forward. Peter and the rest of the team have developed a specialist leadership role for me that makes me feel very much part of their expert team, and I am very keen to get started.”

Katten London’s hospitality clients include Accor/Fairmont, Starwood, BridgeStreet, Gansevoort and Wyndham.

Katten Law is a sponsor of the Serviced Apartment Summit Europe.</p
