US: Hospitality company D. Alexander has decided to eliminate all short-term rentals and reinvent its business to mid-term rentals in order to provide people with “safe, clean escapes to heal, rejuvenate, be productive and continue to keep living mindfully”.

The firm has confirmed that it will now be offering destination isolation solutions for those within driving distance, providing all the necessary amenities to live and work from the beaches of Florida, mountains of Tennessee or red rocks of Arizona.

Flat rate packages for one- to three-month stays are available and include:

  • Flex scheduling and accommodations [booked days do not expire]
  • No security deposits and transferrable dates [booked days can be gifted one time post-purchase]
  • Damage and protection insurance [all packages are fixed pricing based on home size, bedroom count and location]
  • Benefits including wine, Malin & Goetz products, Sheets&Giggles linens, game rooms
D. Alexander claims to be the first “owner-operated home hotel collection” — aiming to create radical consistency from home-to-home and a pioneering hospitality brand that introduces a new standard in how groups create memorable destination experiences. The brand was launched in 2019 with the intention to set a quality and consistency standard for short-term vacation homes.
The company owns and operates all of its homes like a boutique hotel, with a smart tech-enabled experience in every home, while it has welcomed over 2400 travellers in the space of three months.

Its investors include experts and category creators from the residential real estate and short-term rental industries, such as Colin Wiel and Doug Brien, co-Founders of Waypoint Homes and Mynd Property Management; Austin Allison, founder of Dotloop and WineSociety; Scott Shatford, founder of AirDNA; Ivy and David Zelman, founders of Zelman and Associates; Ben Kinney of the Ben Kinney Companies; Robin Sheakley, president of Sibcy Cline; and Ryan Gilbert, founder of PropertyBridge and founding advisor to Square.
