UK: Liverpool-based Walker & Williams has revealed plans to grow its portfolio to 30 aparthotels within the next 10 years.

The family-run owner/operator has acquired sites in Chester and Ormskirk as it looks to grow its presence in the north-west.

The 22,000 square foot Ormskirk Magistrates Court will open next year as a 23-unit luxury aparthotel with a restaurant and a cocktail bar. Work has also started on transforming a grade two-listed building on Newgate Street in Chester into a 19-key aparthotel.

Walker & Williams is targeting Manchester and Liverpool for its expansion, and is also looking at sites in Leeds and Harrogate.

The company launched its first aparthotel in 2017 with No.10 in Preston. It also operates The Winckley Square Hotel in Preston and The Hotel in Chester.

Founder and director Max Walker-Williams said: “Our ultimate goal is to grow our portfolio to include 30 aparthotels within the next ten years. While it may seem ambitious, we have a proven track record of success and continue to see an appetite for the boutique style of luxury accommodation we offer.”
