US: Marriott’s TownePlace Suites extended stay brand has opened in the Liberty area of Kansas City.

General manager Brett Nieman said the 114-suite TownPlace Suites property at 130 South Steward Road has been trading well in its first month: "The area seems excited about the hotel. "I personally am glad that it is open. While we are built for the extended-stay guest, we still have short-term stays. The best thing is that people can stay and cook their own meals. We also have outdoor barbecue grills and a fire pit."
The property employs between 20 and 25 part- and full-time employees. Nieman said the property's membership of two chambers of commerce has started the an involvement in the local community: "It's important for us to get into the public and be part of the community," he said.
