Cambodia: Silvertown Metropolitan is to open an $11 million serviced apartment development in the Cambodian capital in September.

The Silvertown Metropolitan Serviced Apartments will be managed by Veasna Meas, managing director of Naki Group, and the property’s general manager Jovany Antonio.

The two met when they both lived and worked in the US.

Antonio said: “It was the beginning of this year, and Veasna called out of the blue and said he wanted to bring a Western approach to property management at Silvertown and fuse it with local sensibilities.”

The 15-storey 1,000 square metre scheme will feature 110 serviced apartments, a four-bedroom rooftop penthouse, a coffee shop, retail outlets, a swimming pool and a gym. The units include studios, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

“We’ve hired almost all of the approximately 50 staff, and they all come from the hospitality sector, but we needed to have everything in working order before we began the true training,” said Antonio.
