UK: Saxbury is inviting lease proposals for the historic Market Chambers building in Cardiff ahead of its refurbishment.

Owned by Thackeray Investments, the property has an active frontage onto St. Mary’s Street, and once refurbished will feature air-conditioned serviced apartments or aparthotel units arranged over five floors, as well as a basement reserved for back-of-house purposes. Market Chambers, with its highly decorative, period façade sits next to Howells, one of the most well-known and architecturally impressive buildings in Cardiff.

Saxbury is inviting lease proposals from operators, who will have the option to utilise flexible layouts at this stage of the development process, or may select the optimum configuration from the two proposed schemes: 46 aparthotel units or 30 serviced apartments (subject to planning).

Market Chambers is within walking distance of BBC Wales Broadcasting House, and is within sight of the Principality Stadium (formerly the Millennium Stadium).

This is the second operator serach launched by Saxbury on behalf of Thackeray Investments in recent weeks - the other is in Reading.
