SAN and Colliers International hosted the serviced apartment investors and operators round table discussion

Piers Brown, Serviced Apartment News and host of Serviced Apartment Summit and Marc Finney, Head of Hotels and Resorts, Colliers International welcomed a select group of industry professionals to the third in a series of serviced apartment investors’ round table lunch meetings in London earlier this week.

The event brought together some new, and more established serviced apartment owners and operators, banks and investors for a sector update and to discuss the outlook for the future. Lunch was complemented by Dr Walter Boettcher, Director, Research and Forecasting, Colliers International delivering an engaging presentation, entitled ‘Life in the party? Comments relevant to serviced apartment operators.’

Investors in the room included those with existing hospitality investments, looking to find their first serviced apartment and extended stay deal and those already active and looking for more opportunities.

Topics discussed included International Funds defining the market with $32 trillion USD; capital chasing yield and the ensuing yield compression conditions; GDP growth and possible mid-cycle slowdown; the outlook for US and UK interest rates, London v Regional serviced apartment performance; predicted population changes of the main European countries 2015 – 2030 presents opportunities; and ‘over segmentation’ of the vast choice of property investment choices now available.
