International Hospitality Media has announced the launch of Serviced Apartment Summit Asia with ONYX Hospitality Group as patron sponsor and host.

The new launch will sit alongside events in Europe, The Middle East and Americas in the expanding Serviced Apartment Summit portfolio.

The inaugural Serviced Apartment Summit Asia will take place on February 21 and 22 at Amari Watergate Bangkok in Thailand. Day one afternoon (Thursday) will see tours of innovative property concepts in Bangkok followed by a speed business card swap and drinks reception. Day two will feature a full day's agenda, packed with industry-leading speakers debating the most crucial issues facing serviced apartments, extended stay, branded residences and short term rentals. The dates have been chosen to encourage attendees, particularly those travelling from overseas, to stay on over the weekend and experience more of Thailand and the nation's warm hospitality.

Piers Brown, CEO of International Hospitality Media, said: "We hosted the first Serviced Apartment Summit in London, in 2013. Since then, our events have become renowned for their intense focus, providing unparalleled business and learning opportunities. We are extremely pleased to launch the Asia Summit, which is a key part of the jigsaw for us in terms of global coverage. The total worldwide serviced apartment inventory has recently passed the one million mark, and much of the sector growth has been driven by companies from this part of the world. It is exciting for us to now have a presence in this fascinating marketplace and we look forward to meeting friends and colleagues old and new in Bangkok."

Douglas Martell, president and CEO of ONYX Hospitality Group, patron sponsor and host for the event, said: "We are delighted to be a founder sponsor for Serviced Apartment Summit Asia. This region is a crucial hub for the industry and, with many of the sector's largest operators based here, is a hot bed of innovation and excellence. Our involvement as patron sponsor and host aligns with our commitment and robust growth in the serviced apartments sector. We are very much looking forward to welcoming attendees from Asia and beyond to our home base of Thailand, where they will experience some wonderful hospitality and enjoy amazing networking and learning opportunities at the Summit."

RMS The Hospitality Cloud,a leading provider of hospitality software, is also confirmed as a sponsor.
