UK: Edinburgh-based Fountain Court Apartments is switching its operations from serviced apartments to long-term residential lettings.

The shift in strategy started last month with the handover of the first tranche of fully-furnished apartments to specialist lettings agency, DJ Alexander.

Fountain Court expects to complete the handover of all its 85 apartments to DJ Alexander – and the closure of its serviced apartment business – by December 2020.

The apartments are all in Grove Street and come in a range of sizes, from studios, to one- and two-bedroom apartments.

Director John Neil said: “We have operated in Edinburgh for 22 years. In that time there have been many changes in the city but none have affected our business as quickly and dramatically as Covid-19, with an overnight shift to working from home coupled with travel restrictions. Our board has therefore taken the strategic decision to change our business model and we are confident that our well-located, fully furnished apartments will be attractive to a range of prospective tenants.”

Fountain Court will honour existing bookings for its serviced accommodation for dates of stay up to and including 17th December 2020.
