US: A Home2 Suites by Hilton property has opened on Amelia Island, South Carolina.

Located at 2246 Sadler Rd, Home2 Suites by Hilton Fernandina Beach Amelia Island was under construction for two years. It features 210 beds across 103 suites, as well as amenities including a saline pool, fire pit and a grill area.

“The property is within walking distance of the beach, which is the whole reason for why we chose that spot,” said Tony Tam, vice president of operations at IMIC Hotels. “This is their (Hilton’s) brand new product, and we feel like it will be successful.”

Located across the street from the Hampton Inn Amelia Island at Fernandina Beach – also managed by IMIC Hotels – the $9 million construction project started in October 2018. The 53,097 square-foot hotel occupies approximately three acres and employs a staff of around 20. Tam added that during the busy season, the hotel expects to add an additional ten employees.

“As a brand, we’re committed to delivering the modern and flexible accommodations our guests demand in a growing number of coastal destinations that they love to visit,” said Adrian Kurre, global head, Home2 Suites by Hilton. “Fernandina Beach’s picturesque beaches, pristine golf courses and rich history make it a paradise for both vacationers and business travellers extending their stays for some well-earned leisure time.”
