US: Fayth Hospitality Group has started construction of a 76-room Hampton Inn and a 123-room Home2Suites at 141 S. Stone Ave in Tucson.

The Rio Nuevo Board unanimously voted to proceed with a 25-year Government Property Lease Excise Tax (GPLET) lease and a rebate of incremental site-specific sales taxes, according to their website.

The hotel, which should open by the end of 2020, will share a common lobby and breakfast area, fitness, laundry, pool and back-of-house operation.

The Home2 Suites will be the first extended-stay hotel in downtown Tucson. “Downtown Tucson has a lot to offer,” said Greg Fay, developer and managing member of Fayth Hospitality. Fay said due to the location of the new hotel, its guests “should be interacting with this emerging downtown culture.”

A ground-breaking ceremony is planned for August 27th.</p
