UK: Summix Capital has received unanimous approval from Bristol City Council for a major scheme in the city.

The mixed-use development on Unity Street in Old Market will comprise 189 student rooms and 102 co-living studios, as well as ground floor flexible co-working spaces.

Residents will have access to a private studio bedroom, and share communal areas including lounges, kitchens, laundry facilities and outdoor amenity space.

Stuart Black, development director at Summix Capital, said: “We’re delighted with Bristol City Council’s decision to approve our Unity Street application, a landmark scheme which will deliver a new type of innovative accommodation not seen before in Bristol. It will help to bridge a gap in available options for young professionals and others wanting to live in a managed community environment in the city.”

“We would like to thank Bristol City Council and members of the local community for their guidance in helping us to create a high-quality development which will help to meet a recognised need for a new type of offering in Bristol. We look forward to continue working with Bristol City Council and the local community as we aim to begin construction of the development in the first half of next year,” he added.
