US and UK: AKA serviced residences have introduced a number of new initiatives to help prepare for business post-pandemic.

Over the past few weeks, major hotel brands have introduced new sanitation and security protocols to ensure rooms and public spaces are safe for reopening.

AKA has since launched a dedicated tab on its website that outlines a number of hygiene-related initiatives the company is implementing.

Hospital-grade electrostatic disinfection misters are now supplied at every AKA property. EvaClean, a non-toxic and sustainable product, can kill bacteria, virus and germs within 60 seconds.

A colour coded microfibre system is also used to ensure zero cross contamination in bathrooms as well as kitchens.

A third-party internal audit is to be consistently carried out to verify all disinfecting products meet EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2.

Anti-microbial hand sanitiser stations are to be installed throughout each property, with contactless payment methods accepted at all locations.

All staff will also undertake coronavirus awareness and preventative training as part of an ongoing course.

Team members will not be allowed to enter rooms to clean departures until 24-72 hours afterwards – suites will then be released after a 72-hour period.</p
