UK: A derelict Victorian factory in Nottingham is to be converted into an aparthotel, offices and workshop space.

The city council approved plans from developer Nazir Asmal for the four-storey Palmerston House in Mount Street. He has secured permission to convert it in to a hotel, offices, training, meeting rooms and workshops.

The aparthotel will be located on the first, second and third floors and comprise a total of 36 one and two-bedroom units.

The lower ground floor would include five office rooms, three meeting/training rooms, the reception for the aparthotel and back-of-house facilities. The floor would also include seven car parking spaces and six motorcycle spaces as well as two workshops.

A council document said: “The application notes the intention that local businesses would use the workshops and training areas to demonstrate products and as start-up or expansion facilities.”
