UK: Independent serviced apartment agency Citybase is forecasting record growth in the year ahead.

The company has announced strong financial results and particular growth in its B2B sales. The last six months have seen a 57 per cent increase in revenue compared with the same period in the previous year; and the firm says it is set to have a record-breaking 2016 after a restructure and strategic shift last year.

Managing director Davor Parker said: "We made some tough decisions in 2015 to focus our efforts in markets where Citybase can develop long term relationships with clients for whom we can be competitive, add value and provide a tailored, differentiated, customer-focused service."

Citybase is seeing significant growth in B2B market share, where the medium to long-stay and relocation sectors "are booming as more businesses realise the benefits a serviced apartment can offer in living space, competitive rates and freedom to live, eat and work".

The company, which employs more than 40 people at its Lancaster head office supported by a London-based corporate development manager, has a global portfolio of more than 30,000 apartments worldwide.

"As a small business we pride ourselves in the agile approach we can take to managing our accounts, delivering totally tailored accommodation programmes. It is fantastic that our financial results are reflecting that this is the right strategy for Citybase. We expect to expand even more this year and will be investing further in technology, CRM and training our people to continue to lead the way for serviced apartments,"   said Parker.
