Turkey: Carlson Rezidor has announced the signing of Radisson Blu Residence Istanbul Batisehir.

The company's first serviced apartment project in Istanbul will feature 171 studios and apartments ranging in size from 23 to 125 square metres, as well as all-day-dining  restaurant, a bar, a business centre with four meeting rooms, a gym, and parking  spaces. It is scheduled to open in Q2 2016.

"We see a  growing demand for serviced apartments - especially from business and leisure  customers from the Middle East. The Radisson Blu Residence will further  diversify our offer in Istanbul, one of Europe's busiest and most attractive  markets," said Wolfgang Neumann, president and CEO of Rezidor.

"Turkey  is a key focus country for our group. We now operate and develop 20 hotels with  more than 3,600 rooms across the country, and want to further drive growth and  scale together with experienced national and international partners," said Elie Younes, executive vice president and chief development officer of  Rezidor.

The  Radisson Blu Residence Istanbul Batisehir will be located on the western side  of Istanbul as part of the Batisehir project, one of the largest real estate developments in the city. The 818,000 square metre development will offer a mix of residential buildings, offices, retail space and an educational centre.
