UAE: Accor has opened Aparthotel Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha in Dubai’s Al Barsha district.

The property, located near Mall of the Emirates, is the second Aparthotel Adagio Premium, joining the first in West Bay, Doha. It features 198 serviced apartments comprising 72 one-bedrooms, 76 two-bedroom, 35 three-bedroom, and 15 four-bedroom apartments.

Each apartment has an LED flat screen television, wired and wireless high speed internet access, connectivity panel, individual climate control and a work area. The property features nine meeting rooms.

General manager Philippe Montaubin said: "We are very pleased to announce the opening of the Aparthotel Adagio Premium. We've identified a need for the longer-term stay, with many business travellers, local professionals and even tourists now preferring this option. The location, access to the city and facilities are perfect for this market, and as the property is connected to the Novotel Dubai Al Barsha, guests have a diverse choice of food and beverage options."

The building is linked to Novotel Dubai Al Barsha, enabling residents to use the hotel's F&B offerings.

Editor's Comment

The Gulf region is rapidly becoming a global hot spot for serviced apartment and extended stay development, with activity levels ramping up considerably. In December 2013, a Colliers International report said 10,000 additional serviced apartment units were needed to fulfill projected demand in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar. In the past few days alone we have reported four new launches in Dubai and others in Oman and Saudi Arabia, and we expect the momentum to keep on building in this vibrant market.
