UK: BHA welcomes Think Apartments as the first member if its new serviced apartment sector group.

The British Hospitality Association (BHA) has launched a sector programme for serviced apartments and welcomed Think Apartments as its first member from the industry.

The BHA says it is keen to capitalise on the rising popularity of serviced and self-catering apartments in the UK, as well as representing the interests of sector leaders.

Ufi Ibrahim, CEO of the British Hospitality Association, said: “Hospitality and tourism in the UK comes in all different shapes, sizes and guises, and the BHA embraces a membership body which reflects this diversity. The launch of the BHA’s new sector programme for serviced apartments reflects this evolution in the hospitality and tourism industry. Apartment-living is a popular and growing trend in our sector and Think have clearly played a part in creating a desire for ‘local living’ in hospitality. We are delighted to have Think Apartments on board as BHA members and believe they will add another perspective and dimension to our work.”

Jim Souter, CEO of Think Apartments, said: “We are delighted to be the First aparthotel company to be members of the BHA. The sector is at an exciting point in its development in the UK and we see it as the next revolution in hospitality – the last being budget hotels in the 1980’s. Think Apartments will be adding locations both in London and across the country as part of our growth strategy and we believe that the time is right for us to participate fully in the industry through our membership of the BHA.”

THink Apartments is a sponsor of the Serviced Apartment Summit conference which takes place in London in July.
