Homewood Suites is the biggest of Hilton’s three extended stay flags, with more than 470 properties currently open. Embassy Suites by Hilton has 251 locations and Home2 Suites by Hilton has more than 255 properties.

The scale of the Americas extended stay market is quite remarkable, particularly when viewed from this side of the pond. It certainly puts things in to perspective to learn that as well as the 1,000 trading properties, Hilton has a further 588 hotels in the pipeline across the three brands, in North America, the Caribbean, Mexico and South America.

An exciting facet of the US extended stay sector – and surely the sign of a healthy market – is the rapid growth of newer brands to the space. My Place Hotels, for example, currently has around 50 hotels open and operating across 21 states, with a near-term pipeline of 75 additional hotels and mid-term commitments for upwards of 40 more hotels to follow. It was recently included in Inc. Magazine’s 37th annual Inc. 5000, a ranking of the fastest-growing companies in the US.

This is a sector with huge potential for further growth, and it is definitely here to stay.

To keep up with the latest trends in the US extended stay sector, and to meet the industry’s key players, make sure you secure your place at the 2019 Serviced Apartment Summit Americas, which is taking place in New York City on April 10 and 11.
