Australia: Quest Apartment Hotels has confirmed it is on track to open its latest aparthotel, Quest Perth Ascot, in September 2020, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 112-apartment hotel is in the final phase of construction and is set to become the second Quest developed by M/Group. Located near to Perth Airport and Ascot Racecourse, the new franchise will be an important addition to the ongoing Belmont Park business hub development.

Quest Apartment Hotels general manager for growth, James Shields, said he was proud of the company’s support for local communities and the national economy during the pandemic.

He said: “Bespoke furniture, fixtures and equipment is a key part of the Quest Ascot build, along with unique photographic artwork drawing inspiration from the local environment and history.

“Quest look to build properties where our corporate guests want to stay. With easy access to Perth Airport, the surrounding business areas of Belmont, Welshpool and Kewdale as well Ascot Racecourse, we expect Quest Ascot to be attractive to both corporate and leisure travellers,” he added.

M/Construction director Michael Read said that the company’s 1000-strong workforce had worked hard to introduce Covid-19 safety measures during construction and had adapted to social distancing, staggered lunch breaks and increased cleaning rotations.

He said: “Despite the exceptional conditions, the project has been built in an extraordinary timeframe by using a pre-cast system, enabling one floor level to be built each fortnight.”</p
