Australia: Quest will expand its offer to 10,000 beds with the opening of the Yuhu-owned 221 Miller Street development in North Sydney.

Yuhu Group’s $250 million, 21-storey North Sydney residential project was built by Richard Crookes Constructions and designed by architects PTW, the designers of the “Water Cube” National Aquatics Centre in Beijing for the 2008 Olympics. There are 169 apartments as well as the Quest apartments. Quest will open 100 units in the project aimed at business travellers

Quest founder and chairman Paul Constantinou said the serviced apartments will be under the franchise owners of Quest St Leonards, Brent Howard and Anne Crowhurst.

“Quest has opened nine properties so far this year and has another seven under construction,” he said. “We focus on the regional and suburban centres, where we see growth from the business sector.”

Colliers International’s Guy Wells said: “Quest has a strong presence across all parts of Australia, including capital cities, regional centres and suburban locations. They have a thorough understanding of Australia’s hotel market and see Maribyrnong as the perfect location as it marks the halfway point between the Melbourne CBD and Melbourne’s International Airport.”
