US: The Pavilion Grand Hotel in Sarasota Springs is being rebranded as the Pavilion Grand Executive Apartments.

The property, at 30 Lave Avenue, will reopen its 48 suites as extend stay apartments from November 1st.

General manager Susanne Simpson said the move is a “natural transition”. “Covid came along and, like everybody else, we were hit very hard. We realised there might be a way to redefine the future. We did a series of meetings, talked to clients and got a feel for what we think is the future of travel.”

The result is a hybrid model that Simpson said appeals to two types of customers: those who want to stay a week or more while visiting the area, and those who want the services of a high-end hotel but the comfort and furnishings of their own apartment.

The units range is size from 600 to 2,200 square feet, with amenities including the 30 Lake restaurant on the ground floor and a spa.

“It’s been extremely well received,” Simpson said. “Our clients are very excited. We created another opportunity for clients that are just coming for the summer. They can give us the unit back and we’ll help them sublet it.”

Monthly rental rates for unfurnished apartments will range from $1,750 for studios up to $3,900 for a penthouse, including utilities.

Weekly rates for extended-stay units start at $2,100 during peak season from June to October and up to $6,700 for a penthouse.
