US: My Place Hotels has opened its 50 and 51st properties in South Dakota and Nevada respectively.

The 50th property is the the four-storey 63-unit My Place Watertown. It is located close to I-29 off of Exit 177 at 3409 8th Ave. SE, and offers guests close access to the Redlin Art Center, Bramble Park Zoo, and Lake Kampeska.

My Place Watertown will mark the first hotel to open with the newly redesigned Generation 2 (Gen 2) Guestroom. Announced at the 2019 My Place Convention in San Diego, the Gen 2 Guestroom is the largest upgrade to the My Place prototype. Most notably, the Gen 2 Guestroom offers major changes to the bathroom, boasting larger counterspace and a backlit mirror to accommodate for the needs of the modern traveller. Additionally, the Gen 2 Guestroom offers upgraded furniture and modernised finishes.

The property is locally owned by Watertown Hotel LLC., and operated by Venerts Hotel Management, Inc. Venerts director of operations Connie Ward said: “We are super excited to be one of the first properties to open with the new Gen 2 guestroom. The redesigned elements of its design provide many improvements for the comfort of our guests,” said Venerts Director of Operations Connie Ward. “Watertown was an opportune location to open a My Place Hotel in based on the needs of the town currently. With many construction projects in progress and an aggressive CVB booking new events in town, My Place is the right product to fill a need that the area currently lacks!”

The 51st My Place Hotel is in Carson City, Nevada. The three-storey, 64-unit hotel is located at the intersection of Arrowhead Drive and North Carson Street at 17 Hospitality Way and is positioned to accommodate for the diverse needs of a wide variety of travellers in the region.

The first extended stay lodging in the area, the new hotel is minutes away from Carson City Airport, adjacent to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, Western Nevada College and a wide variety of scenic destinations such as Combs Canyon, Vicee Canyon, and V&T Railway Park.

The hotel was developed by Carson Hotel Group, LLC. Carson Hotel Group’s Jason Welk said: “Carson City has a unique mix of government, corporate, and tourism-based lodging, for which the My Place brand is an excellent fit. Not only will it be the first extended-stay product in town, but it has been over ten years since Carson City has had any new hotels enter the market.”
