US: A subsidiary of the Bowman Group is proposing a Home2 Suites by Hilton property on Pullman Lane in Hagerstown, Maryland.

The company filed an application last week for a building permit from the city of Hagerstown to construct a four-storey Home2 Suites by Hilton, a project estimated to cost around $8.4 million.

The 65,923-square-foot building at 1661 Pullman Lane is proposed on a 2.9-acre plot behind the Bob Evans restaurant, adjacent to the Homewood Suites by Hilton. It would feature 105 apartment-style guest rooms, including 37 studios with one king bed and 47 more with two queen beds.

Pending approval by the various city departments, Bowman officials hope to break ground in early April, with the spring of 2019 eyed for completion.

Bowman Hospitality would own and operate the hotel.

“Because we saw such a nice demand, we felt the Home2 was just a natural progression to offer people more of the extended-stay, apartment-style accommodations,” said Francine Donachie, corporate director of sales and marketing for Bowman Hospitality.
