UK: SACO will open The Moorgate, a 27-unit aparthotel in the City of London, in early December.

The mix of studio, one-bedroom and interconnecting apartments, spread over four floors, is designed to provide guests with the comfort and flexibility of having their own apartment, with all the benefits of a fully serviced aparthotel with SACO staff on hand  for support and assistance.

SACO says high-spec interiors have been installed throughout, with flooring and wall finishes, locally inspired, limited print artwork by Artiq, custom-made furniture by Gubi and Saba Italia, and feature lighting by Flos. Each air-conditioned apartment is double-glazed to a high spec, soundproofing it from the busy area that surrounds the property.

The Grade II listed building has been redeveloped from its previous office and retail use, with design by architect James Parkin – LDS Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands.  Many period features have been retained.

Stephen Hanton, CEO of SACO, said: “The launch of The Moorgate, our newest boutique aparthotel, is a fantastic milestone for SACO and an excellent addition to our London and UK property portfolio, and we are excited to finally reveal this well-kept secret in the heart of the city. Twenty years of experience has given us extensive knowledge of what business and leisure travellers need to make their accommodation a true home from home, and we are confident that The Moorgate will become a popular pied-à-terre in London.”

Felipe Domingues, apartment manager of The Moorgate, added: “The Moorgate is a fantastic opportunity for me to use my passion for guest care to ensure we offer an outstanding guest experience at Moorgate. SACO is focused on creating a memorable guest journey at the Moorgate with the personal touch from our talented on site team, and we are building a cosy atmosphere to complement the guest experience. I truly believe this is a stunning home away from home in a perfect location, and I look forward to welcoming our first guests.”</p
