Austria: Adina will open its first aparthotel in Vienna next year, on the Canettistraße, near the Belvedere Palace.

The Adina Vienna Belvedere will provide 134 studios and apartments with a minimum size of 28 square metres. Austria’s largest developer, SIGNA Real Estate, has been appointed for the construction. Opening is scheduled for the end of 2020.

The Adina hotel will offer tourists and business travellers accommodation fitted out with a living and working area as well as a kitchen while still providing hotel service. The Adina Vienna Belvedere will not only be one of seven hotels in the city with its own pool, it will also offer a sauna and fitness area, a 24-hour reception, an extensive breakfast menu and a very well stocked bar.

“As a location, Vienna was a logical consequence of our European expansion. The high-end segment of the hotel apartment market in Austria is still relatively untapped. Those who want the home comforts of an apartment without sacrificing the premium service of a hotel have had scarcely any options in Austria to date. The Adina concept is a decisive step towards diversifying the existing hotel market and offers discerning travellers a comfortable alternative,” said Matthias Niemeyer, head of development Europe for Adina. “The location is particularly attractive to us since the site is establishing itself as a modern commercial centre with large numbers of international visitors requiring high-end accommodation for various lengths of time from a few nights to several weeks. Vienna has been named the city with the highest quality of life worldwide for the tenth time in succession. Our comfortable apartments will allow visitors to the city to sample this way of life for themselves. The Adina Vienna Belvedere will be a feel-good destination that brings together business and culture.”

The property in Vienna is one of eight hotels due to be opened by Adina in Europe over the coming years. This expansion will almost double the company’s number of beds by 2022. In addition to Vienna, the other new Adina locations are Düsseldorf, Freiburg, Geneva, Cologne, Munich, Stuttgart and Wiesbaden.
