France: Aparthotel brand Adagio has launched a new concept designed to accommodate larger groups travelling together.

The Coliving by Adagio concept offers a self-contained apartment with four to six rooms, accommodating up to 12 people.

Each room has its own bathroom, and there is a separate area within each unit for use as a shared multifunctional space. The private spaces branch off this in a star shape.

The first Coliving flat is currently being built in the Aparthotel Adagio Paris Bercy and will open to visitors in autumn 2021, with the brand hoping to rollout the concept across its international portfolio soon after.

Coliving was developed by the Adagio design team in collaboration with the design studio Numéro 111. Adagio says the Coliving concept adapts to guests needs and architecturally combines community and privacy. It is based on four pillars: flexibility, flowing transitions, community and service, the company says.

The Coliving communal areas “are designed to be hybrid and not limited to a specific function”, inspired by The Circle communal spaces in Aparthotel Adagio properties.

Elements include a kitchen with a bar table which transforms into a collective work area with power sockets, and a living room which can be used for presentations via a larger monitor.
