Onyx celebrates North Asia success in 2016

Thailand: Onyx Hospitality Group is celebrating 16 award wins and five new management contracts in 2016.

The company’s North Asia division won five accolades at brand-level and 11 at property-level. Highlights include Most Potential Hospitality Group for ONYX at the 11th International Hotel Platinum Award, Best Serviced Apartment Operator in Asia for Shama at the 2016 Asia Hotel Awards, Hong Kong’s Leading Serviced Apartment 2016 for Shama Central Hong Kong by World Travel Awards, Best Serviced Apartments of China for Shama Xujiahui Shanghai at the 11th China Hotel Starlight Awards, and Select Service Corporate Hotel award for OZO Wesley Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Business High Flyers Awards.

Onyx North Asia also secured five new management agreements – the highest number of agreements signed since the establishment of the regional office. These consist of two hotels (Hotel 108 Hong Kong and a Mosaic Collection hotel in Sheung Wan Hong Kong) and three serviced apartments (Shama Xiangnanli Chengdu, Shama Midlevels Hong Kong, and Shama Island North Hong Kong).

In 2017, Onyx North Asia will open five new properties – the 61-key Hotel 108 in Mong Kok, Hong Kong, the 121-key serviced apartment, Shama Island North, in North Point, Hong Kong, the 101-key Shama Daqing Heilongjiang, the 252-key Shama Xiangnanli Chengdu, and the group’s first Amari hotel in China, the 73-key Amari Yangshuo.
