UK: Staybridge Suites London - Vauxhall has been named Hotel of the Year at the 2016 European Hospitality Awards.

Part of InterContinental Hotels Group's extended stay brand and managed by Cycas Hospitality, the property also won Best Use of Technology at the event.

Winners of each category are automatically entered into the Hotel of the Year category and Staybridge Suites London - Vauxhall was unanimously selected by the judging panel "who were impressed by the team's innovative approach to enhancing the guest experience".

Giovanni Valentini, general manager for Cycas Hospitality, who was also the runner up in the Hotelier of the Year category, said: "To be crowned Hotel of the Year for all of Europe against such an impressive and competitive line up is a real honour for us. It's great to get recognition for all the hard work the team have put in."

Karen Khanna, IHG vice president, operations, UK and Ireland, said: "The Staybridge Suites brand is, above all else, about its guests and the sense of community built within the hotels. We're extremely proud that Giovanni and his team have been recognised for their outstanding commitment to providing guests with a home away from home. Despite being opened just shy of two years, Staybridge Suites London - Vauxhall has constantly achieved the highest scores for guest satisfaction across IHG's Europe portfolio. Waggers, the hotel dog (part of the welcome home team) greatly contributes to this! Congratulations to all."

The property was also shortlisted for the Innovation of Service award. Following the recent acquisition of Staybridge Suites Newcastle, Staybridge Suites London - Vauxhall is one of five Staybridge Suites hotels in the UK to be managed by Cycas Hospitality.
