IFA selects Morgans' Delano brand for Dubai hotel apartments

UAE: Morgans Hotel Group has announced its partnership with IFA Hotels & Resorts to bring the Delano brand to the Middle East with Delano Dubai.

Scheduled to open in 2017 as the third hotel in the Delano portfolio, Delano Dubai's 110-key hotel apartment property will be situated on Palm Jumeirah and will form part of a contemporary mixed-used resort development known as The8.

The8 is currently under construction and will feature both the Delano-branded hotel apartments, as well as other stand-alone residential properties offering diverse facilities and entertainment. It is designed to bring the feel of Miami's South Beach to the Middle East. IFA Hotel Investments (IFA HI) will oversee the asset management and operational aspect of the development. Launched in 2014, The8 will contain resort-style facilities including extensive water-sports, a gym, tennis courts, a beachfront restaurant, beach cabanas, barbecue and event areas, as well as dedicated amenities for young families. The 110 apartments will include one-, two-, and three-bedroom units and a presidential suite.

The stream of new serviced apartments and branded residence projects in Dubai is becoming a torrent, and the appearance of Morgans, with its Delano brand, is indicative of just how hot this market is at the moment. It's also telling that Morgans - which is known primarily for its US boutique hotels - has chosen to go with a hotel apartment format. Its branding combined with IFA's knowhow and financial clout should prove to be a formidable partnership.
